Controlled breeding

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

As i was walking home from the bus-stop, my mind was idling, and i thought of the most ingenious idea ever.

If S’pore has problems with the mosquito population, why not have controlled breeding? Lay out huge pools of still water to attract mosquitoes to breed, and kill off the larve by clearing the water every few days (within the life cycle of the larve)! Then we would have fewer mosquitoes over time??

Ain’t that a possible solution???

Last few days of 07…

- I watched a movie, I am Legend, on 28-Dec-07, FOC with Dad and Mum. The folks think its a rubbish movie, i enjoyed it (maybe coz it was free? hahaha) though i didn’t understand why he had to die by sacrificing himself. Someone told me that if he didn’t die, then he won’t be a legend. But he will die eventually of old age rite?? Then he will still be a legend! Idiot.

- I went to attend a Fish concert, on 29-Dec-07, with EASH. It was my first concert after 5 yrs (last i attended was Ah Mei’s 2002 concert, yea, it was really that long ago), and even though Fish has a nice voice and nice songs, she doesn’t have the stage presence like Ah Mei. Guess i would have to wait for her next concert then. EASH wanted to go to the concert to see the special guest, who was Ah Xin from Mayday, rather than go for Fish. What rubbish. Idiot.

- Maria Sharapova Live! Back at the Indoor Stadium on 30-Dec-07, this time round with my Dad who had free tickets to the exhibition match. Well, as usual, when its free, the seats are shatty, right at the top of the Indoor Stadium, where Maria was sooo tiny. But i can’t complain since its free right? Was very one-sided in the first game, and i think SGreans are kinda un-sophisticated. Someone shouted: Go Maria! then the other end of the stadium would shout back: Go Anna! I felt so paiseh can…what if Maria and Anna think that we are a bunch of LC idiots?? Idiots!!

Happy new year…

Right. Auditors are H.O.T.

Tuesday, July 24th, 2007

“Auditors are hot”. Boldly emblazoned on a white T-shirt, this is the message Emily Tan, 21, has for those who think that accounting and those who do it are a snore. While studying accountancy, Emily, together with four friends, started the website Auditors in White selling T-shirts bearing slogans ranging from the abovementioned declaration to others like “Audit brings me to places” and “Auditors love ginger A-L=E”.

Their enthusiasm for “revamping” the image of auditors started when two of Emily’s friends started discussing how auditing and accountancy are often perceived as boring. With a laugh, Emily maintained: “But we don’t think so!”

Just 1 question lass: So why are you a management trainee with JP Morgan Asia Finance when being an AUDITOR IS HOT?

13 weird things about me

Monday, June 18th, 2007

Here’s ur instructions…

Once you have been tagged, you have to write a blog with 10 weird random things, facts, or habits about yourself. At the end, you choose 5 people to be tagged, list their names and why you choose them. Don’t forget to leave a comment that says “you’re tagged” on their profile and tell them to read your latest blog entry.

—————————————————————————————————-

1. When i have a new eraser, i will only use one corner (out of 8 corners) and when people borrow my eraser, i will keep spying to make sure they also only use that same corner.

2. I like to know my schedule for the day, and get quite aggitated if there are changes due to circumstances. However, sometimes i just ignore my schedule and don’t do anything, eg nua at home.

3. Whenever i am deciding what to eat, i will let the person who is dining with me what i will be ordering. But when the waiter comes, i will order something else, haha!

4. I don’t like to do my “big business” outside. I die die will come home and bomb. I have trained my ass muscles very well.

5. I have never managed to keep long fingernails. This is because i always pick at my fingers whenever i am nervous or stressed. Thus my fingers really look terrible.

6. I always watch movies alone. Not that i like doing that, but there’s no one to watch movies with. Quite sad when i think of it. haha…

7. When i was in primary 6, i obtained a perfect score for part 1 of my Chinese exams. I would have topped the cohort if not for the stupid ger who beat me in the compo part. Oh, i topped my cohort in primary 4 for English and got a book prize! :)

8. I have been at the same weight since upper sec school, which is 55kg. I cannot seem to gain weight/mass. Bah.

9. I don’t like to eat green peas. When i was younger, i didn’t have a choice since i was forced to eat them. Now i am older, i have a choice! hahaha!

10. I have not been to Zouk, nor St James, nor *insert-any-famous-anyone-would-have-gone-before-club*. I am a good boy, hahaha.

11. I love the colour purple, even though everyone gives me a dirty look when i tell them so. “Gay colour!” is the most common response. Nono, purple is a royal colour!

12. Before 2005, i have never used any hair-related products, eg hair-gels, wax, mud. No wonder my ex-gf left me, ha….

13. I don’t like to follow rules, so instead of having only 10 weird things, i have 13! haha!

I think alot of people have done this, so i ain’t going to tag anyone. Whoever feels like doing this then go ahead =)

Windsurfing @ East Coast

Monday, June 11th, 2007

I spent the 1st 2 days of my leave attending a windsurfing course on Saturday and Sunday. It is not very easy, but then its not super difficult to pick up. Personally, the balancing on the board part was the one which i had problem with. I really believe that if i could have overcome the balancing part, the rest of the steps/procedures would be easy peasy!

On the first day of windsurfing we learnt about the basic setup (i.e. rig, boom, mast, downsail, upsail, backhand, fronthand) and all the technical jargon, which as the instructor predicted, was all forgotten when we hit the water! LOL.

We were both super tired after the course, and luckily Dad was there to drive us to Parkway Parade to have dinner. Had dinner and went home, and konked out by 12, missing my 我猜我猜我猜猜猜 =(

Woke up ard 5am? Coz Mum was leaving the house to go travel. Thought she might come and say goodbye, but she never, so i went back to sleep. The next moment i woke up, saw the sunlight, then i jumped. How come Dad never wake me up to drive him to NEL to take train to Harbourfront for his cruise?? I went to his room and he was still sleeping!! It was 710am, and he was meeting his friends at HF at 8am?! And he hasn’t packed his bag yet!! Win alr lor my Dad….

Rushed like mad, and finally managed to send him to the station ard 730am. Wanted to sleep, but didn’t in case oversleep since the course would be at 930am. Picked up C and her brother (who was having tuition at Heartland Mall) and went for the 2nd part of the course. Surprisingly, today wasn’t as tiring as yesterday and it was more fun today, with fewer instances of falling into the damm salty and disgusting sea. But i got stung by jellyfish. Damm painful sia….and it still hurts now!! I hope i dun die….

Drove to Katong for lunch and had prawn noodles for lunch. C is one of the rare few girls who dun mind walking long distances =) Tired. Need sleep.

Types and buses

Sunday, April 22nd, 2007

After reading OLLie’s post about her categorization of stages of liking someone, i sort of agree with her, but not totally la…

For example, there can be another category between Crush and Like? I mean what if you know the bf/gf of the person you like? And what if you are still going on movie dates with the person coz the bf/gf is overseas? And what if the person calls you to complain and ask for a listening ear when they quarrel?

Erm, i dunch know what to call that category, so i shall just leave it as it is ba…

——————–

I like to take buses.

Despite the fact that my job allows me to take cabs, even call for cabs, i still like to take buses. Taking buses allows me to observe people (girls especially, haha)  and if there ain’t enough people for me to look at, the time could be spent thinking, coz bus journeys always take a long time. Cabs on the other hand, there is nothing for me to see except for the uncle, whom i have zero interest in. And everything zooms by so quickly. I am slow by nature can??

To me, choosing a seat on the bus is a very important decision. As important as marriage. For me, the reason is very simple. Once i sit next to someone along the aisle, even if the rest of the bus is empty, i will not move to another seat. Why?? you may ask? Well, if i move, other people (or the person next to me) might think that the person next to me stinks rite? Or there’s something wrong with the person (eg keeps farting/belching) that results in me moving away. Then its not so nice to him/her ma… Unless the person really stinks, then i will move away at the first available opportunity.

Well, i equate that to marriage. If i am married to someone(=sitting next to someone on the bus), i will try my best to make things work and not divorce so easily (=move onto another available seat at the first available opportunity) unless the person i married really stinks(=the person next to me on the bus really stinks)! :)
